Updating A Guardian Account on Their Behalf

While the guardians should keep their accounts up-to-date, there may be times you are aware of changes that are needed to the account and it’s easier for you to make the update.  If a guardian has given you permission, you do have the ability to make changes and updates to their and their children’s information.   When the guardian sets up their login account they choose whether or not to allow organizations to make adjustments on their behalf.  They have the ability to override any changes you…See More

Check-in By Phone Number

We’re often asked; why is check-in done by the family’s phone number, why not their last name or some other identifier?  The 10 digit phone number is the most unique account identifier and therefore the fastest and easiest for check-in. Keep in mind that KidCheck is a global, web-based solution so all KidCheck parent/guardian accounts are in the system, not just your particular members.  Therefore a common last name like Smith could pull up a very large volume of “Smith’s” for a guardian to…See More

Don’t Forget to Clean Your Label Printer

A clean label printer is a happy label printer.  Well, maybe we can’t speak to its actual happiness, but periodically cleaning your printer will ensure it stays in tip-top shape and reliable working order.  And that helps keep you happy!  We suggest you clean the printer at least monthly.  If the printer jams, clean it immediately!  As the labels can’t be in the printer when you clean it, perform the cleaning when you change the roll. It’s a quick and easy process.  KidCheck has cleaning pads…See More

Visitor Check-In

You want visitors to feel welcome, you want them to feel confident their children will be in safe hands and you want to capture enough information to follow up with them – but you don’t want them to feel overwhelmed or that you are trying to learn too much about them too soon.  Our suggestion to best balance this is to only capture basic, pertinent information from visitors checking their children in - name, phone, email, child name, child gender and child birthday.   This provides enough for a…See More
