Actually, installing the system with Linux Mint is really easy. We've qualified everything using Linux Mint v7 since it contains all the correct drivers for printers, scanners, Java and firefox pre-installed. (download here: http://www.linuxmint.com

KidCheck is actually already setup to do this. If a child is assigned a pager number, either manually per guardian, manually per child or automatically, the pager number is printed on the child's name tag right below their check-in location.

There's actually an easy fix. We just need to know who's account was re-created & we can merge them back. The way that KidCheck does the Guardian & Login account merge when the user creates them separately is that it looks for similar phone numbers…

Editing Authorized Guardian Lists

Well, after much debate (and I mean MUCH) we decided to enable the editing of parent's guardian lists in the people section. This gives you complete control over a parents account can allows you to add/remove and change the authorization of a guardian.


This should come in really handy when addressing things like duplicate kids (because parents aren't linked to each others account) unlinked parents and quickly adding in unauthorized guardians for folks that don't have a login

We just launched the initial beta release of our administrators console. Here are a few of the new features in the admin console:


- See child check-ins in real-time

- Confirm arrival of children to their check-in location

- Easily move a child from 1 location to another

- Pull up detailed information without having to scan in a name tag

Deleting a Family From KidCheck

We get asked this question pretty frequently. “I have a family that doesn’t bring their kids here any longer, how do I remove them from KidCheck?” The simple answer is “you don’t.”




Remember that KidCheck is a legal record of who was in your care at what times and when, so for legal purposes, you don’t ever want to remove anyone from the system, and we purposely designed it as such.
