Would it be possible to add a birth date field to the Roster Report?  Also, could this birth date be listed as 3 fields - month, day and year - so sorting according to exact age would be easier?

This would greatly assist in determining which preschool children get promoted to the next class on Promotion Sunday (twice a year for us).  Furthermore, the teachers would receive one roster report instead of a roster report and a birthday listing.

Thanks so much!

How about I just list the age next to the birthdate?
Adding the age and the birth date to the roster would be helpful for a teacher.

However, for “Promotion Sunday” purposes, I need to know at the present time who will be a certain age by August 1. (We promote in June (we plan in May), but we go by the school’s cutoff date of August 1st.) The age field is not accurate (for these purposes) for those who have birthdays between May and August. I can look at the date field, but since sorting by date in mm/dd/yy format sorts by month first, the list is not sorted by actual age. (Older children are mixed in with the younger children when those older children are still the same “age” now as the younger children but will turn the next age in the summer because their birth year is older.) To summarize, we promote twice a year and while planning those times I need to know the age of the children on a future date and the best way to do this is to sort by yy/mm/dd. (I can still get the info I need with the current system, it’s just more labor intensive.) Thanks for any help you offer.

I agree with this suggestion. The thing I wish for most often is to sort by birthdate. Is it coming?

Actually, you can do the complete database export report & sort/edit by any field you wish.  It's listed in the Database Export section of the reports library.

I love that, but it doesn't really help for an event.
