Option to make 'check-in mode' boxes unchecked?

I was wondering if there was a way in check in to make the boxes not already checked by default. i definitely understand why they are checked, to make the check in process go faster. My request is because we have many families that have step children that don't have all of their kids during the week and also many of our families bring their vans full of kids on midweek times but only their biological children on sundays...

i know there is an option for this in check-out but check-in mode would be great too.
