KidCheck Using Mint Linux

Are there hints to setup and use Mint Linux? I especially need help with installing DYMO Labelwriter 450. Do you simply run the install under WINE or what? Thanks.

Actually, installing the system with Linux Mint is really easy. We've qualified everything using Linux Mint v7 since it contains all the correct drivers for printers, scanners, Java and firefox pre-installed. (download here: http://www.linuxmint.com/release.php?id=11)

In Mint 8 & 9 the drivers for the DYMO and Zebra printers are not included so the install process is much more difficult since you have to install compiler packages, libraries and compile/install the linux drivers for the printers.

I had put together a document detailing the install process, but it's eluding me right now. I'll post it as soon as I locate it. I also have a VMWare image of Mint 7 available that's all setup if needed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had already installed Mint 7, but then I lost the wireless connection. I managed to get a hiccup out of the DYMO. Maybe all the rain down messed something up. I'll re-install.and try again. Thanks so much.
