Information, Resources and Updates for KidCheck Users

A clean label printer is a happy label printer.  Well, maybe we can’t speak to its actual happiness, but periodically cleaning your printer will ensure it stays in tip-top shape and reliable working order.  And that helps keep you happy!

We suggest you clean the printer at least monthly.  If the printer jams, clean it immediately!  As the labels can’t be in the printer when you clean it, perform the cleaning when you change the roll. It’s a quick and easy process.  KidCheck has cleaning pads available to order, click here for more information.

How to Clean your Printer

  1. Unplug the power cord
  2. Wipe any dust or debris off the outside. If needed you can clean dirt or smudges with alcohol, diluted dish detergent or diluted glass cleaner.
  3. Open the cover and carefully clean any paper, dust or debris from the interior with a toothbrush or cotton swab.
  4. Remove the labels and clean under the roll with a toothbrush or cotton swab.
  5. Use a pad from the cleaning pad packet and insert it into printer. Press the "Manual Feed" button to move the card through the printer. Discard the cleaning pad after use.
  6. Plug the power cord back in and reload labels.
