Information, Resources and Updates for KidCheck Users
We’re often asked; why is check-in done by the family’s phone number, why not their last name or some other identifier? The 10 digit phone number is the most unique account identifier and therefore the fastest and easiest for check-in.
Keep in mind that KidCheck is a global, web-based solution so all KidCheck parent/guardian accounts are in the system, not just your particular members. Therefore a common last name like Smith could pull up a very large volume of “Smith’s” for a guardian to have to find themselves from. Rest assured that while all those with the same last name may be listed, if they have not checked into your facility, none of their associated information (phone, address, children, etc) is visible, at all. The information in a guardian account is only visible to an organization that the parent has already checked into, no exceptions.
We’ve found that by asking for a phone number associated with the account to be the main input, check-in remains streamlined, simple and speedy.
Another great option for check-in is key tags. You can decide to provide key tags, similar to those you receive from grocery stores and gyms, for your members for check-in as well. For organizations such as fitness centers that already have specific key tags for your members, KidCheck can set up your solution to use those same existing key tags for KidCheck check-in as well. Rather than input their phone number, guardians would simply scan their key tag under the barcode scanner to bring up the check-in screen. Check-out can be accomplished as well by scanning the barcode. Some organizations find this to be a quicker and easier solution.
KidCheck also offers keytags custom made with your logo on them as well. More information here.
More information about how to register keytags can be found at our online help tool, help.kidcheck.com. Under the “volunteer/employee” section look for “registering parent keytags”.
