KidCheck Users Group

Information, Resources and Updates for KidCheck Users

When you login in as an administrator you have a "People" tab that allows you to search for your churches guardians. You can select a guardian and modify their guardian account information.

It also shows whether or not the guardian account has an associated login account. It would be nice if administrators could click a button to create the login account from this screen. We could create a userid and temp password for the user and click a button to email the guardian the information (if desired). Another nice feature would be to change the user role (ex. select them as volunteer) from this screen as well.

I agree that being able to change use roles from the people screen while logged in as admin would be great. I've got about 20 employees, about 75 weekly volunteers, and another 125 or so monthly rotators. I still haven't gotten them all in the system. And with the number of senior adults I have who rotate, getting them to create login accounts has been a little difficult.
This would be a great upgrade to the system. As a church, we like the ability to go the extra mile and complete a log-in for them as needed. In the suggested log-in confirmation email, it would be helpful to also provide a link that would take the user directly to a password/profile change page.
This is an interesting suggestion & I'll take a look at it. One thing that we definitely won't do is allow you to create a login account on behalf of a parent.

You can imagine the liability if your organization (church) creates a login account for a parent. By doing so the church is then responsible for the child's information on that account so if the child is then checked into their daycare and the child is given a food that they are allergic to, guess who's liable for that? Not the daycare or the parent, but the church that wasn't even involved in the situation in the first place. (except that they took responsibility (by creating the login) for the child's information without the parents involvement)

BUT... Changing user roles, or even e-mailing an login creation link to a parent is something that we could do from the people tab. I'll take a look.
Ok, see if this works for you guys. From the people tab, pull up a guardian's account. Click on the "Edit" link in their account detail panel.

Then, in the edit screen, if they don't have a login, you can send them a login account creation invitation. If they have a login, you can change their user role right there as well.

I think that will work well. Thanks, Alex.
Yes, I agree that it would be nice to be able to create a Login Account for people. Because in order to register people as Volunteers they need to have a login account (which i understand) but if people forget to create a login account it delays the process of registering them as volunteers.
